Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson were appointed to produce master plans for a state-of-the-art sporting venue for a Worcester Warriors.
The redevelopment of Sixways Stadium, home of the Worcester Warriors. Commissioned by Junction 6 Limited, the new owners of the club, HCD has collaborated with a team of industry experts, including BNP Paribas Real Estate, BWB, and EDP, to create a masterplan that will transform the stadium into a premier destination for sport, entertainment, health, and wellbeing.
The comprehensive redevelopment aims to enhance the fan experience, create new community facilities, and support the club’s ongoing efforts to return to professional rugby in England. HCDA’s design focuses on creating a vibrant and sustainable future for the Warriors and the wider Worcestershire community.
Key features of the HCDA-designed redevelopment include:
Enhanced Stadium Capacity: Redevelopment of the north stand, increasing capacity to 12,750 and featuring a new ‘Watch Tower’ viewing platform and a dedicated fan zone.
Community Focus: Introduction of new sporting offers, including a medical and sports rehabilitation centre, solidifying Sixways as a hub for community activity.
On-Site Hotel: A new 120-bed hotel to boost the local economy and attract tourism to the area.
Versatile Events Space: A state-of-the-art, multifunctional events space designed to host a variety of events, from conferences and banquets to exhibitions.
National Esports Centre: A dedicated centre for esports, positioning Sixways at the forefront of this growing industry.
Improved Connectivity: Enhanced transport links, including a new multi-storey car park, improved cycle paths, and the potential reintroduction of shuttle bus services to and from the city centre and rail station.
